Adventure Awaits
Unplug, explore far away lands, exotic wildlife and your yoga practice, while having an impact on the international community.
What is the Red Sweater Project?
The Red Sweater Project collaborates with local communities to create affordable, accessible and advanced educational opportunities for children in rural Tanzania. While there, we will volunteer and directly support the community at the Mungere School, Mungere Village’s first secondary/high school. The school opened in 2012 thanks to the hard work of Ashley Holmer and dedicated teams of volunteers. The Mungere School is affordable and available to students in the village, allowing them to continue their education beyond the 6th grade — from right in their own community.
This had NOT been possible before the Mungere School.
What Next?
Then, it’s SAFARI TIME.
Following our volunteer time in Mungere Village, we will embark on an African safari heading into Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara to see abundant, exotic wildlife. At the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the scenery is as stunning as the wildlife itself, including the park’s famous tree-climbing lions. We will then descend into Ngorongoro Crater, home to about 30,000 animals. We’ll continue game driving to the heart of Tanzania’s outback by heading west toward the Serengeti Plains. Central Seronera is known for some of the best game-viewing all of Africa has to offer.
All proceeds of every booking directly benefits the Mungere School and its efforts to provide education to children in rural Tanzania. Portions of this trip may be considered a tax-deductible donation.
