Jill Knouse

Jill Knouse

Sweat & soul, wisdom & compassion, artistry & inquiry weave together in the yoga experiences Jill creates. This kind of tapestry is born from her love of movement and the postures, of music and imagery, of yoga philosophy and a genuine interest in human nature, in what makes us tick. Deep explorations into the practices of yoga, including study in India, continue to expand and enrich her teaching. This is not to overlook all that has been gleaned from simply walking through life with all its ups and downs. Jill’s journey through and to the other side of breast cancer has left her looking through a new, wider lens and she is even more motivated to learn, to grow and to share.
While she recognizes the value of being flexible, feeling fortified, cultivating balance and seeking appropriate alignment through asana practice, even more importantly, Jill sees how crucial these principles are to our lives. Jill’s ongoing fascination with the human spirit — resiliency and strength — keeps her inspired, pursuing and continuously integrating. Jill loves sharing her knowledge and life experience in an honest, grounded way.
In her personal life, Jill enjoys keeping it simple, spending time with her husband, Michael, and their two pups, Addie and Dug.
Jill is extensively trained and is registered with the Yoga Alliance (YA) at the 500-hour level.  Elevate, her collaborative yoga teacher training founded in 2013, is also a registered yoga school via YA. Jill has committed over 16 years to sharing her love for and understanding of the practices in local studios, via workshops, retreats, in teacher trainings and through group + individual mentorship.  More about her ongoing studies below…thank you for visiting this site.

“If the whole universe can be found in our own body and mind, this is where we need to make our inquires. We all have the answers within ourselves, we just have not got in touch with them yet. The potential of finding the truth within requires faith in ourselves.” ― Ayya Khema
